Sound Production at Outernet: Frequency Symbiosis and Tree Soundscapes

This project, developed at the Outernet Now Building, integrates natural acoustics and body-centric frequencies to create an immersive "frequency symbiosis space." Leveraging advanced audio-visual technology and ecological principles, it bridges human perception, natural ecosystems, and digital networks.

Research Focus:

  • Explores how vibration frequencies influence human perception and their potential to link the physical body with broader ecological and virtual systems.

  • Investigates the use of sound as a medium to unify natural, digital, and bodily realms, proposing new forms of multispecies and multisystem connectivity.

Key Components:

  • Tree Sounds and Natural Frequencies:

    • Captured vibrations from trees and other natural sources form the core of the soundscape.

    • These sounds are harmonised with chakra-based frequencies, creating resonant patterns that influence bodily fluid dynamics and enhance sensory experiences.

  • Immersive Digital Space:

    • Designed to synchronise with the 16K resolution LED screens at Outernet, the soundscapes generate a 360-degree immersive environment.

    • Visual and auditory elements are tightly integrated, amplifying the multisensory impact of the installation.

  • Frequency Symbiosis:

    • Utilising the concept of resonance, the project connects human body frequencies with geological and ecological systems.

    • The installation fosters a "co-resonance" between the audience and the environment, encouraging meditative and reflective engagement.
